About Jeanne Grove
Jeanne has been making art since the 1950's. She was encouraged by supportive parents who recognized her love of art at an early age and enrolled her in classes taught at the Nelson-Atkins Museum and the Kansas City Art Institute, both in Kansas City, MO. She attended the University of Kansas in Lawrence as a Drawing and Painting major, with significant time spent in Printmaking and Design classes.
Since 1995 Jeanne has been making art quilts and experimenting with surface design. Most recently her focus has been on creating unique hand-dyed and painted fabrics, and also scanning original photographs and art. She alters the image on the computer and prints it on fabric. Inspiration for her work comes from nature, gardening and the beauty of changing seasons in Colorado. She likes to work improvisationally or from original photographs. Jeanne's work has been shown in traveling exhibits around the United States and in numerous art shows and galleries in Colorado.
